As a tropical marine biologist, working in the field, I conduct thousands of surveys, identifying millions of fish annually. This year, that task was made a hundred times easier by the publication of the Marine Fish Families Series. The Surgeonfishes, Rabbitfishes and Their Relatives book contained a rabbitfish I have failed to identify for six months because it is not in any other field guide. Plus it is infinitely reassuring to know that when you spend twenty minutes of a dive drawing the specific details of a pipefish that you will be able to surface and identify it specifically. My undying thanks to the authors and my wholehearted congratulations to TMC for undertaking such a commendable task.
